Full time – Temporary Contract 1 year with the potential to extend

Stanton House is a small friendly Christian retreat house near Oxford providing warm hospitality to all who visit. We offer space for rest, restoration, renewal, and the opportunity to draw closer to God.

We are currently enjoying a new, and exciting phase at the house and are seeking passionate and exceptional Team Members to join us.

 Aims of Stanton House

We aim to keep biblical hospitality at the heart of our community - welcoming the stranger as family - by demonstrating the love of Jesus through our willingness to put others before ourselves. Our resident community members are an essential part of the welcome we offer, as we seek to love and serve our guests in all that we do. We provide opportunities for guests to join in with a rhythm of daily prayer led by the team - though some guests will often follow their own programme. For the team members it is a place to grow together spiritually, building a house of prayer and serving both people, and God, through community life.

 The roles

The positions would ideally suit a couple or two individuals working together to fulfil a practical role in our community. Although team members are expected to share responsibilities for all areas in the house and grounds, we are looking for people who will help in the kitchen preparing healthy, and delicious, home-cooked meals - as well as contributing to admin and housekeeping tasks.

The list of tasks and responsibilities are not exhaustive and are subject to change at the discretion of the Trustees and the House Warden. Both roles can be separated or combined to suit the giftings of individuals.

Team Benefits

·         A monthly allowance of £700 per person plus rent-free accommodation – including council tax, utilities, tv licence and free Wi-Fi (approximate equivalent value to £26,500 per annum)

·         Shared meals

·         20 days paid leave per year plus 15-18 days leave over Christmas and New Year when the House is closed to guests

Any new community member serves a three-month trial period. The notice period for any community member is one month. To apply, please click the link to the Application Form - paying particular attention to the Person Specification before sending.
