Accommodation

Stanton House is a beautiful old 3-storey building with two public lounges, a large dining room and a comfortable hall giving guests the option to relax and chat in front of the wood burner. Our single, double, and twin bedrooms can accommodate 9 individual guests or between 10 and 15 if sharing. One of our rooms is situated on the ground floor and is available for guests who struggle with mobility.

Of the 9 bedrooms four are en-suite and five have their own dedicated bathrooms for personal use. All have a wash basin, comfy chair and a writing desk. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Dining

Meal times at Stanton House are shared around tables with other guests, or they can be taken at separate tables for those wishing for a silent retreat. Those who are part of a group will be seated at their own table in order to relax or continue with the business of the day.

Whilst our meals are fresh, simple and wholesome, we are able to cater for medical dietary requirements when requested before arrival.

  • Breakfast: On each floor of the House there is a small kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster etc. Being aware that many of our guests come for rest and recuperation, breakfast is left in the kitchenettes to enjoy at leisure. Cereals, yoghurts, fruit, toast, tea and coffee are replenished daily. Group breakfasts are served in the dining room at 8:30am.

  • Morning coffee: Each bedroom has a small kettle with teas, coffees and milk, as well as biscuits for guests to enjoy mid-morning. For residential groups, morning coffee is served with biscuits at 10:30am downstairs in the coffee area.

  • Lunch: Our 12:30pm lunch is the main meal of the day and ends with dessert or fruit, tea, and coffee. Sunday lunch is served at 12:45pm to allow guests time to go to church should they wish.

  • Afternoon tea: For individual guests, afternoon cake is laid out in the dining room at lunch time and can be taken to bedrooms where tea and coffee is available on the tea trays. However, for day and residential groups tea and cake is again served in the downstairs coffee area at 3:30pm

  • Supper: A light supper of soup, bread, yoghurts and fruit, is served in the dining room at 6.00pm after which tea and coffee is available - followed by devotions.
